You just got a new machine with an AMD FX 8350 M. The GPU is GTX 1060, your brother installed Battlefield 4 on his PC, and you’re experiencing frame drops every 1-2 minutes around 10 frames. Your CPU is only about five months old. Let’s troubleshoot together.

CPU should be fine but the per core performance is still ehh... What PSU @Patrick molloy ? What temps is your GPU reaching?

Sounds like a heat problem on either GPU or CPU, most likely CPU.. so Its trotteling, thats why you get the frame drop. I would do a Prime 94 test for your cpu, and firestrike or something like that for your gpu. Post the temps here, and we will see if that is the problem

Maybe you missed using the 8-pin power port, which is typically found at the top or bottom of the motherboard. If you connected that instead of the PCIe or CPU slot, you might not be getting enough power when it's under load.
