Approximately a month ago, the issue began—performance decreased significantly in all of my games (Rainbow Six Siege, Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Destiny). I attempted to resolve this by reinstalling Windows, re-installing game files, updating drivers, and other troubleshooting steps. However, these actions had no effect.

My system specifications are as follows:
CPU: Intel Core i7-8700k @ 4.3 GHz
GPU: Nvidia GeForce 1070ti
RAM: 8GB G.Skill Value @ 2133 MHz
Motherboard: Gigabyte Z370 Aorus Gaming 3
Power Supply Unit: 500 Watt BeQuiet System Power 9

A power supply of at least 500 watts is advised for a 1070 Ti – Tom’s Hardware offers numerous comparisons of effective versus adequate power supplies. Personally, I would suggest considering a 600-650 watt unit to adequately power a 1070 Ti. Furthermore, the system’s 8 gigabytes of memory could lead to performance issues as it fills up, forcing Windows to utilize its swap file due to insufficient RAM; 16 gigabytes is now the generally recommended amount for gaming, with many titles exceeding 8 gigabyte requirements – for instance, Black Ops 4 frequently demands over 12 gigabytes.

Your power supply isn’t adequate for this setup, which is a concern.

Have you monitored your CPU and GPU temperatures when you experience frame rate drops? It appears to be indicative of thermal throttling – a reduction in performance due to overheating, intended to protect your hardware.

What kind of CPU cooler are you using with your i7?

It’s possible the PSU isn't delivering sufficient power or is malfunctioning, however, let’s begin by examining the temperatures first.
