They suggested using a CPU contact frame with an LGA1700 socket, but I chose not to install it to keep the motherboard warranty intact. I removed the built-in loading mechanism instead. Could anyone share experiences with the Thermal Grizzly CPU Contact Frame Intel 1700 LT?

No, I'm not experiencing high temperatures. Let me know if you need a contact frame.

The issue lies in pressure, not temperature.

Well, there are pros and cons. A contact frame helps keep the CPU from bending too much, ensuring even contact with the cooler and preventing overheating. However, it won’t cause any harm if temperatures stay under control. You might save money and time, but there are risks like warranty issues and potential problems if it’s not installed properly.

You can simply reinstall the factory components. I've tried both Thermal Grizzly and ThermalRight contact frames—one on my 12900k and another on a 13900k. There are plenty of LGA1700 chips available that work without these frames, and they function perfectly. You didn't mention the specific CPU model? It seems like a better approach might be to avoid changes if you're not experiencing temperature issues. Most users find it unnecessary unless they encounter problems.

I'm checking the Thermal Grizzly CPU Contact Frame Intel 1700 LT (ABS with fiberglass) for an i5-14600K.

Same answer. If your temperatures are good, dont bother.

To clarify this further, maintaining consistent contact with the cooler helps minimize the temperature gap (delta) between the cores. The LGA1700 chips slightly flex within the stock clamp because the PCB is quite tall, and the die itself is also elevated: the core arrangement shows this flexing. This can cause sections of the IHS to not touch the cooler firmly enough, leading some cores to exceed 10°C above others—something that has occurred with various Intel and AMD models under different circumstances. The contact frame helps flatten the CPU, ensuring a more uniform interface with the cooler and reducing that temperature disparity. It won<|pad|>’s this effect won’t instantly cool the whole chip, but it will align a few hot cores with the rest. If your monitoring shows most cores at 80°C but a few spike to 95°C+ and affect performance, a contact frame should likely resolve the issue. If cooling remains inadequate, verify your cooler installation, increase fan speeds, and consider a higher-quality cooler if needed. I’ve used a contact frame on my 12600KF, switching from an NH-L12S to an NH-D15S, which noticeably lowered both core temperature differences and overall temperatures.

All processors are running at comparable temperatures, well under the values you referenced, since they aren’t under heavy load and I’m employing a dual tower air cooler.

Then a contact frame won't do anything of use, so no need to worry about getting one.
