I've already mentioned this before, but I'm still trying to find a solution. Since I upgraded my computer recently, I've noticed frequent frame drops across all games, except Roblox. Despite having much better specs than before, my system feels sluggish. I suspect the issue might be related to CPU usage, as my performance drops when I experience a frame drop. My specs are: CPU i5-10400F, GPU 1660, 12GB RAM, 380W PSU. I've kept the original coolers and haven't replaced them. Temperatures stay under 65°C, so throttling isn't the problem. I've adjusted settings in both Nvidia Control Panel and game menus, but nothing helps. I'm confused because nothing I've researched has solved the issue. It's not temperature, and my GPU doesn't exceed 70°C while gaming. I've checked core unparking options, but it seems Intel CPUs don't support it. I also looked into the GPU, since my old setup had an integrated one, but no relevant info came up. The system is prebuilt from Lenovo, so I've seen some bloatware warnings, but they don't seem to cause drops. My CPU and RAM usage are low during games, and I rarely see high usage otherwise. The latest drivers are installed, and Roblox runs perfectly without issues. I'm really stuck and would appreciate any advice or information you can provide. Please let me know if you need anything else from me. Thank you in advance.

Learn more about the resolution and configuration you're using in the games. Note: I just realized your PSU is only 380W OEM. You should upgrade to at least 550W from a trusted manufacturer like SeaSonic, Corsair, or Cooler Master. Once that's fixed, test other options. That card alone can consume around 200W.

I typically play games with medium difficulty. I run at 1080p resolution and 120hz, and I'll check the power supply.

The main concern in the PSU seems to be the 8+4GB setup. It likely offers the lowest cost but also the slowest performance. A decent 2x8GB 3200MHz CL16 configuration could still boost speed slightly.

There might be numerous reasons behind this, but we'll begin with the most probable ones based on your findings. A fresh Windows setup with the newest drivers is essential.

Even though I'm not completely confident about the reason behind the frame drops, the system's integration history shows it hasn't reliably supported xmp. If that's true, you can turn it on for better performance.

XMP uses two distinct dimm modules of varying sizes, likely from different manufacturers.

They are ready-made units, all from Samsung.
