Good feedback, it can be tricky for someone used to Windows. There are around 340 distributions, and it’s easy to lose track of them. I tried some, but they disappeared quickly. I really like Manjaro Mate, though—I wish I could go back once again.

I usually recommend well-known distributions because newer or smaller ones can be just as good, but they also create a lot of choices and might pose support risks for someone new. After spending a few years in Linux, it makes sense to stick with popular options like Ubuntu, Fedora, Debian, or Mint—not because they’re the best right now, but because they’re more likely to exist for another 5 to 10 years. Of course, nothing is certain (RIP CentOS), but it would be really annoying to invest time switching to Linux only to find your distro no longer receives updates.
