Old specs: core i5 6400, gtx 950, msi h110, 8 gb 2133 mhz ram, 500 watt pcu, 1tb harddrive. I started upgrading my computer with the first item I received—a graphics card that was the gtx 1070—but it caused significant lag spikes. After addressing those frustrating FPS drops, I upgraded to a new setup: Ryzen 5 2600, kept the gtx 1070, 8gb ram at 3200 mhz, msi b350 mate, Corsair RMX 650 pcu, plus a 480 gb SSD. Despite these changes, FPS still drops. Anyone know what might be causing this problem?

Additionally, I think everything is not performing well. When I search for a video of someone with the same specifications playing the same game, I notice I receive fewer frames than they do.

2x4GB at 3200MHz or 1x8GB? Performance drops significantly with single-channel memory.

Absolutely, that's correct—it's a 2x4 with 3200 MHz.
