FPS spikes
FPS spikes
Hello. I noticed frequent FPS jumps ranging from 120 to 40 across all games I've tried, including Dead by Daylight, Barotrauma, and RDR2. Here are some screenshots. My concerns point toward my new Gigabyte RTX 3080 Ti Gaming OC, but spikes persist on my older Gigabyte GTX 1080. This isn't related to the GPU itself. Spikes appear randomly during gameplay. In Barotrauma they happen when monsters spawn or I'm driving in sub. They started after I attempted to undervolt my RTX 3080 Ti. For the first time, I set an excessively low clock speed at a high voltage, which caused issues. Additionally, my PC crashed after running an OC test with MSI Afterburner. My system specs: Windows 10 21H2, x64 CPU i7 10700K @ 3.8 GHz, not overclocked; Mobo MSI Z490 Gaming Plus; RAM 2x16GB Crucial Ballistix DDR4 3600 CL16; Storage 2x Samsung 860 EVO SSDs (1 TB each); Power supply: be quiet! Pure 11 750 W 80+ Gold. No fixes have been made yet. I captured a moment when the spike happens on the Barotrauma screenshot.
Update your drivers, clear the BIOS, remove or reapply Afterburner (start from scratch). Given the situation with two GPUs, a hardware problem is improbable.
