Hello, your performance in games isn’t matching expectations. In "The Finals" you’re seeing 50-60 FPS, while a friend with a less optimal setup (i5 7500 and RX 580) achieves around 100 FPS. The issue seems consistent across other titles, though it’s less severe than in "The Finals" (Valorant, Overwatch, Apex). I’m not sure what’s causing the problem.

Should I reinstall Windows? If so, do you need to fully reinstall or can you reset via settings?

I’m trying to keep everything on my SSD—currently about 100GB free. Is that sufficient? Should I upgrade to a larger SSD?

Here are my specs:
- X470 Aorus ultra gaming
- Ryzen 7 2700X
- RTX 2070 8GB blower edition
- DDR4 2x8GB 2933MHz Corsair Vengeance
- Samsung 250GB SSD
- 5+TB HDD (WD and Seagate)
- Alim 650W 80+gold

I purchased everything in 2019. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I’m running out of options and want to know if upgrading parts is necessary or if I should upgrade the PC overall. Thanks in advance <3

Run UserBenchMark to see how you stack up against others with identical specs. View the results here: [link]

Open startup applications in your system settings and disable them all. Restart your PC and launch your preferred game right away, playing as usual. An increase in FPS suggests your problem may stem from background programs consuming CPU and RAM, hindering the game's performance. We should also check your monitor specifications—do you play at 4K while others use 1080p? That could be the main issue.

I ran the Benchmark at the provided link. I noticed my RAM wasn't in dual channel, so I fixed that. Now I'm getting about 20 FPS more in "the finals," which is already a good improvement. (I didn’t re-run the benchmark because it shows "server full"). The report also mentions my GPU is "Performing below potential." Is this important?

I used MSI Afterburner in-game, and my CPU and GPU usage are around 60%-70%. Please let me know if this makes sense but I’d like to optimize my CPU/GPU usage to around 90% for better performance. How should I proceed?

I also checked the temperatures, which were between 60° and 70°. That seems normal, right?

I mostly have nothing turned on when starting up, so that might not be the issue. The only programs that usually run are Firefox, Discord, and Wallpaper Engine, none of them use much memory. I have two 144Hz 1080p monitors; I'm using one while having Discord or something open on the other. My friend also plays at 1080 fps.

Perhaps if your games are saved on the slow HDD, switching to a budget SSD could improve load times.
Your GPU performance is only slightly below mid-range, which isn't bad at all.
If you have the opportunity to run UserBenchMark again with XMP (or the AMD equivalent) enabled in the BIOS, it would be beneficial.
You might also use CrystalDiskMark and CrystalDiskInfo to verify your storage health.

Thank you for your message. I completed another benchmark check:
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/66933061
It looks like there are no more problems now. My games are already saved on the SSD, so that shouldn't be a concern.
I also tested CrystalDiskMark and CrystalDiskInfo, and the results show normal speeds. All drives report "good" performance (on the C drive it says "good (43%)", which I'm not entirely sure what that means).
