Everything has always worked perfectly on my PC, but over the past two days both League of Legends and CS:GO have been limited to 108 fps. Switching between borderless windowed and fullscreen sometimes brings it back up to 144 fps, though the consistency is still an issue. This affects gameplay a bit, making it feel unstable. Here are your specs: GPU - 2060 Super, CPU - Ryzen 5 3600, RAM - 16 GB 3200 MHz, Storage - 1.5TB SSD + 1TB HDD.

Specs are essential for any troubleshooting. (This would also fit in the subforum)

I created the account just to respond here. This issue seems to have begun after the 20h2 Windows update. I suspect it might be linked to that change. It happens with me too—switching between borderless and fullscreen works as a temporary solution, but it fails when I press alt + tab outside the game. I attempted to update my GPU drivers without success. My system specs are a 1080 Ti i5 8600k running on an SSD. Did you experience similar problems after updating Windows?

I understand the delay due to ongoing school exams. It seems the issue might be linked to the Windows update. I've been updating Windows infrequently, possibly because of this, and I'm considering reverting to an older version to test. Also, resetting my graphics drivers didn't resolve the problem, so it likely relates to the Windows update itself.

It seems the same issue kept occurring to me a few weeks back. It probably relates to the latest Windows update. I’m hoping it gets resolved soon.

Hey there, I faced the same problem for a few weeks too. I resolved it by adjusting the "wait for vertical sync" setting in the FPS cap. It looks like I had to switch it each time a new game launched. I’m hoping this temporary solution helps.

Same here, I've tried nearly everything now. It looks like the Windows media overlay that boosts frame rate to 108 FPS functions when I don't switch tabs out of the game. If I do switch tabs, it starts again and only works properly when VSync is enabled (or disabled). I've had a fresh Windows install about two weeks ago, version 20H2, with an i7-8700 b360 gaming graphics card, ASUS GeForce RTX 2070, ROG STRIX, and a 16GB DDR4 memory. The system uses Seasonic power supply, two monitors, and includes 1 G-Sync and 1 AMD Freesync (currently disabled).

I've been having this issue as well and i think i have a found a fix. either in shortcuts or in the file click onto the properties of league or any other game, select comparability and then select disable full screen optimisations. not sure if this is a permanent fix since i just found it but hopefully it works for you guys as well.

It seems to function well for you, the game runs more smoothly now with no problems. However, the overlay isn't visible in League anymore—though it appears when you switch tabs. Thanks for the update!

Same issue again. As everyone mentions, capping after the alt tab and toggling vsync on and off resolves it. I removed this Windows update and everything worked for me! Of course, I can't guarantee it will fix your problem, but it's worth a shot.
