FPS increases COD MW2 2022 in full screen mode
Hey there, fellow gamers! I'm facing a strange problem with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 2022. My FPS keeps jumping wildly—especially during the early rounds when I’m trying to search and destroy. It usually spikes to around 3-4 minutes before settling back up. Once it stabilizes, things feel pretty normal for the rest of the match. In Warzone, the issue is much worse, with FPS fluctuating all over the game. I’ve switched the game to safe mode, which set everything to windowed and cut the spikes by about 96%. But here’s the catch—I don’t own a PC that runs in windowed mode. I also checked if updating the GPU driver or lowering graphics settings helped, but nothing changed. The FPS swings stay between 50 and 160. Have any of you seen this before? Any tips could really help!
Warzone just went live yesterday. The servers were busy. I played a few matches and experienced lag in several games. It seems like this might be the cause. I think it’s best to wait a bit before exploring further.
Open Win button > write GPU > ensure hardware-accelerated GPU scheduling is enabled > browse and locate the game's executable > install it > select options and confirm "High Performance: GPU RTX 3060 Ti" This typically resolves FPS fluctuations in games.
I understand the situation is chaotic, but the problem isn't just WZ—it's been this way since launch. No one on PC or console has reported these issues. WZ seems more severe than multi and affects the entire game, though that’s a different matter. If it were just general bugs, you’d expect consistent FPS drops, especially after the first round of SnD. I’ll have to wait and see if things improve on their own.
