Hello,
This is my initial contribution here, so please accept any rough phrasing if it comes across as too much.
I've been experiencing frequent FPS fluctuations in most games lately. The problem began roughly two months ago. Prior to that, everything was smooth—I rarely saw any drops or stuttering. Around that time, I switched from Windows 11 to Windows 10 because of an issue with Windows Indexer, and I’ve always favored Windows 10. However, I noticed the problems were already impacting a few games even before the switch.
I've also faced internet-related issues causing FPS drops, ping spikes, etc., on other consoles in my home. Generally, internet should not be the cause of such drops. For instance, on Roblox—which caps at 60 FPS—I often see FPS slipping into the 30s or 40s, even down to the 20s. Minecraft, also limited to 60 FPS, shows similar drops in the 30s–40s. TF2, which usually runs at 100s or 200s, occasionally drops to the 90s. Once on Roblox, I experienced freezing moments with both FPS and ping soaring into thousands. These fluctuations occur in single-player and multiplayer games, though some titles are more prone to them.

Specs:
- I7-11700F CPU
- Coolermaster Cooler (brand not specified)
- B560 DS3H AC-Y1 Motherboard (replaced 4 months ago)
- 64GB RAM
- Kingston SNVS500G 500GB SSD
- Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD
- 3060TI GPU
- "High Power" 600W PSU (about a year and a half old)
- LC27RG50FQNXZA Monitor at 60MHZ
- Windows 10 Home

Solutions I've attempted:
- Downgraded from Windows 11 to 10
- Performed factory reset and wiped HDD/SSD
- Reinstalled GPU drivers and downgraded NVIDIA drivers to an older version
- Temperatures are normal (GPU stays between 30–50, CPU 30–50)
- On Roblox, GPU usage is usually 30s–50s while CPU sits at 5–15
- Setting Roblox to high performance in Windows settings didn’t help and actually reduced both GPUs and CPUs
- Ran health checks on HDD & SSD (both returned healthy)
- Tried Ethernet connection to router (no major changes)
- Used an FPS unlocker on games like Roblox (achieved high FPS in the 300s, but still experienced drops into the 60s)
- Windows is fully updated
- Tested lower RAM speeds (didn’t affect performance)
- No overclocking has been done

It was stable a few months ago, even as late as April or May. But then I started noticing similar issues on Roblox & Roblox Studio in May, prompting the switch to Windows 10.

My thoughts on possible causes:
- Internet connection might be unstable
- Hardware issues could be present (PSU or CPU)
- The Windows 10 installation may have been corrupted
I feel quite frustrated here. I’ve dealt with this PC for over a year, and recently fixed most problems. Now, I’m facing these FPS drops again, which are quite bothersome. At least there are no crashes.

didn't locate any satisfactory reviews for the "High Power" psu
would you consider trying another option?

Sure, I'll check and see if I can locate something to test. I'll try to find one or purchase one if needed.

Purchased an EVGA 850w power supply, but it didn't make much difference.

Is there malware detected on the system? Consider installing a fresh operating system.

A scan with low sensitivity cleared one virus, but it wasn't effective. I plan to install a new Windows 11 soon.

I generally use low to medium settings. The monitor resolution is 1920x1080, and the refresh rate is currently 60, though it can reach up to 240. This problem appeared about two months ago. I was able to play without issues from March to May, with no drops in FPS, stutters, or other problems. Monitoring my FPS showed everything was normal. In June, I started experiencing this issue and haven't managed to resolve it yet.

Drivers have been updated. I've experimented with several versions but had no success.
I typically play at medium graphics settings; lowering it didn't resolve the problem.
The computer received a fresh Windows 10 & 11 installation, eliminating file or drive issues.
Attempted a minimal setup—drivers, game, overlay—but the issue persisted.
Tried both windowed and full screen modes, without improvement.
Performed a clean install from version 11 to 10, but it didn't help.
It seems there might be a hardware concern now. Based on all troubleshooting steps and previous issues, this appears likely. I plan to update my BIOS and check if that resolves the matter. Thanks for your assistance.
