Hi everyone
when I play farcry 6 at ultra settings, my FPS drops suddenly and after restarting it works fine.
do you think the issue is my computer's performance or a problem with the game's optimization?
my setup:
processor i7-10700
graphics z4980-p
display rtx 2060 super
ram 16-3200
power supply 650w gold coolermaster

psu 650w gold coolermaster
Coolermaster
is the brand of the PSU while
650W
is the advertised wattage of the unit and
Gold
is the advertised 80+ efficiency rating. You need to specify the model of the unit.
If I were you, I'd try and see if your motherboard is pending any BIOS updates. As for your discrete GPU, was it purchased used? Did you try using DDU to remove all GPU drivers from your platform then manually reinstalling with the latest driver version sourced off of Nvidia's support site?

I need to confirm these settings. I tested the game several times on my 8700K, GTX 1080 SC, with 32 GB of 3200 RAM. Based on Alex Battaglia's DF recommended guides, the 2060 Super performs similarly to my GPU, and I didn't try it on Ultra.

I set it to high in 2k and achieved an average of 70-90fps.

And that's the configuration I keep as it is, since some areas will have a lower frame rate than that. I tweak my settings more for fluid gameplay than for FPS. Even if I'm maintaining around 60 FPS, if the experience doesn't feel smooth, I'll make adjustments.

Are you using the high resolution texture pack? It requires a card with 12GB of VRAM, so consider uninstalling it if necessary. I'm currently playing it and maintaining around 150 FPS at 1440p settings, though my system is much more capable. I haven't noticed any unusual frame drops.

It wasn't true, I tested it three times with the HD pack on my 8 GB GTX 1080 SC. I even reached 4K in the in-game test, but you should adjust your settings more carefully for certain game sections.
I’m aware Ubi mentioned a 12GB requirement for the HD pack, but I think that’s too strict. They often make guesses about performance without solid tests, which is common now among developers.
This player has the same specs as mine, but they’re using Ultra and 1440p. This is just the beginning; as the game gets tougher with more enemies and effects, you’ll need to switch to High and 1080p for this machine.
With HD Textures enabled, Activado should be set to Activated.
