CPU: Intel i9 12900K
MOBO: ASRock z690 pro Rs
GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3070ti
Memory: G.Skill F4:3600-C18-16GTZR DDR4 32GB
Storage: WD_BLACK SN850X 2TB
PS: EVGA 750 G2
Display: KOOURI 27 QHD 170HZ Adaptive sync compatible (GN07)
I've noticed consistent frame rate drops of around 10-20 FPS, occurring roughly every 45 seconds. Sometimes it lasts a few minutes during loading phases, especially when accessing files on the C: drive. It appears to happen mainly in specific situations, though I'm not entirely sure. Since I upgraded my components to a new MOBO, CPU, and RAM, this issue persists. My power supply seems outdated, possibly around six years old, and I’m wondering if it’s related to the 750W rating or the 8GB of VRAM. I run games at maximum settings (2K resolution), and temperatures remain within normal ranges.
Here is my most recent Userbenchmark result:
https://www.userbenchmark.com/UserRun/67235625
I've tried several adjustments:
- Updated game settings
- Reinstalled GPU driver 551.23 (latest version)
- Cleared direct shader cache
- Disabled free sync
- Switched VSYNC on and off
- Adjusted RAM speed from 1333 to 1800 MHz
- Modified CPU turbo frequency (5.2 GHz → 3.2 GHz and vice versa)
- Disabled non-Microsoft processes in system configuration
I’m still unsure what’s causing the problem despite these changes.

What BIOS version is installed on your motherboard?
I recently updated the GPU driver to 551.23, which is the newest version.
Have you used DDU to uninstall all GPU drivers (Intel, AMD, Nvidia) from your system, then reinstalled them manually using the latest source from Nvidia's support site? Please run it with administrator privileges by right-clicking the installer.
Your PSU is around six years old, and I’m checking if that might be the cause.
If you think the PSU is the problem, consider borrowing a well-built one from a friend or neighbor and test whether the issue continues.
Running bios version 12.07 11/21/2022, the latest appears to be 18.02. I didn't use DDU. I don't have any computer friends, so I'd need to purchase a new PSU.
