Have you tried resolving the lag problems on your laptop? I haven't experienced any lag issues until recently. The game initially runs smoothly at 60fps for a few minutes before dropping to around 23-25 fps. You applied thermal compound to the CPU and GPU, adjusted the NVIDIA control panel power settings to consistent performance and maximum power plan, increased RAM from 16 to 32 gigabytes, and watched some YouTube tutorials about fixing it, but nothing seems to work. Sad

The temperatures during playtime might rise, possibly causing thermal throttling.

The temperature is around 80-85 degrees Celsius. I performed an XTU stress test for roughly ten minutes, and everything is functioning properly. During play, the game occasionally paused and displayed a pop-up stating "the game has detected streaming delays. This might be caused by limited disk bandwidth or limited CPU resources."

It seems this might be a thermal throttle issue. Keep an eye on your clock speeds (CPU & GPU) during this time—they’re likely decreasing. If it’s a recent problem, consider when it began. Have you applied any software updates? Is there factory software managing fan speeds? Did you accidentally disconnect the fan while working? Are you using the laptop elsewhere, and is there sufficient airflow at the bottom for proper cooling?

I checked it too...everything seems fine and working. There are no hardware problems, and the RAM was recently upgraded while the issue was already present. Regarding the software, I remember getting an Nvidia update that could be related, but I’m not sure if it’s the sole cause. To go back to an older graphics driver version, what would you like me to suggest?

Verify your power configurations and confirm no storage devices enter sleep mode when idle.

I used an Intel i7 7700hq and a GTX 1050 processor. I removed most of the original software that came with the laptop and depended on Windows power settings, since those often caused problems in the past. As a Dell owner, I receive updates from Dell’s own app for BIOS, CPU, GPU improvements, and GeForce Experience for GPU updates. Recently I tried removing the Dell app to check if it would help, but the issue persisted.

The feature you're referring to lets you disable the hard disk once it's powered off. It offers settings indicating duration—19 minutes when disconnected by battery, and 25 minutes when connected. Changing it to "never" would keep the disk active indefinitely.

Under power settings, advanced configurations include an option to disable the hard disk after a certain time. The suggested settings are 19 minutes when powered off and 25 minutes when connected to a power source. You might want to confirm if this matches your needs. Regarding performance, the game does experience lag, and CPU speeds can drop significantly—sometimes to as low as 0.7 GHz—especially when the base clock is reduced. This could be due to system settings or hardware limitations.
