I just put in an Intel i7 7700 on an asus z270e strip with 16gbs of pny anarchy ramm, and the psu is a Thermaltake tr2 700 w. I expected better FPS but it actually dropped. Oh, the Noctua radiator fan seems to help.

Typical issue with an unpopular fix. If you're using Windows, it might need a complete fresh installation to fully adjust to a hardware change. A clean install should resolve the problem. However, there could be no other solution, or you might need to re-run the Windows experience index test.

I think using kaby lake (and possibly skylake cpus) might stop you from moving past the disk selection screen during Windows 7 and older OS installations. Be careful if you plan to use win7, but there could be methods offered by your motherboard manufacturer to work around this issue.

If that doesn't work then I'm really confused.

I wasn't able to resolve it without a fresh installation on his hard drive, thank you for your assistance. Have a wonderful day.
