Four sticks each holding 8GB DDR5 RAM? That sounds impressive!
I'm checking online for a NZXT pre-built setup and noticed an upgrade option for $75 that changes from 2x 8GB DDR5 to 4x 8GB DDR5. I'm unsure if this is correct and don't have strong proof. Could this really hurt my gaming performance? Should I replace two sticks or something? This is my first PC, so I'm not very experienced. I also don't want to mess with anything inside, which is why I thought it could save me stress later. Any advice would be appreciated.
Four sticks should suffice and balance won’t be a concern. It may slightly slow things down, but usually only a minor impact—often below noticeable levels. I favor two larger dimmers because it’s simpler to upgrade later. I wouldn’t take them out unless something goes wrong. Having 32GB is helpful for many recent titles, especially when multitasking in the background.
