Hello, I own an RTX 2070 Super FE. I set the power limit to 110% and the GPU temperature cap to 85°C using EVGA Precision X1. According to HWiNFO, it’s drawing a maximum of 220 watts. Given its 215W TDP, that seems high. After increasing fan speeds and adjusting the power limit, thermal throttling still occurs. When I played Shadow of the Tomb Raider at max settings (1080p except AA), I enabled DLSS Quality mode (version 2.3.9) for ray tracing. The peak draw dropped to 190 watts—about 30W less than before. Usually, lowering GPU power to 58 with a thermal limit of 63 helps when using speakers or doing college work. BIOS settings are silent and keeping the case cool. I’m confused why it’s not using full power anymore. Is the PSU failing? Could the GPU be dying? Are there wrong BIOS configurations? Attached is a screenshot from HWiNFO after playing Amid Evil. I've been using it for over two years, which could point to a thermal paste problem. Also, I see a 75fps cap in the NVIDIA settings, but both games run smoothly without hitting that limit, even with ray tracing enabled. That’s confusing.
