Hello all. I won't bother listing my hardware specs as I am pretty sure they have nothing to do with this. My OS is a freshly updated Win 10. The problem I am having is that if I have Nord installed on my computer Forza Horizon 4 refuses to go online. This is a new problem that has only cropped up in the last couple weeks. I have a three year subscription to Nord so trying a different VPN is not really a thing. Having to uninstall Nord every time I want to play FH4 and then reinstall it afterwards is less than ideal, obviously. Any ideas? I should note, when I am trying to play FH4 Nord is NOT running, not even in the taskbar.
Honestly, this seems to be an FH4 issue and beyond your control. Back when FH4 was fresh, the game would frequently stop launching whenever someone farted in the same room as the computer. Seriously, search for "Forza Horizon 4 fails to load" and see how many people are complaining across thousands of sites, while hundreds of supposed fixes fail to work. I stopped playing it completely—every update would crash the game, and the only way back was a full delete and reinstall, which quickly became outdated (the DL is around 80GB). It’s a great game, but on PC it’s about as reliable as building a skyscraper on a mountain.
Yesterday I removed Nord to test FH. I just reinstalled it and started the game again. I’m currently online. I plan to close FH, restart Nord, stop it, and try once more. Note: I don’t know why FH4 is still working even after connecting with Nord then shutting it down. Perhaps Nord wasn’t updated, even though I didn’t see an update window.
