Forza Horizon 4 crashes after approximately 15 minutes.
Hello, I recently purchased Forza Horizon 4 approximately one to two weeks ago and was using the AMD driver version 20.2.1 with my 5700XT, which functioned flawlessly. Following the installation of driver version 20.2.2, my PC freezes after approximately fifteen minutes of gameplay, requiring me to hold the start button to initiate a restart. I have configured in-game settings at their maximum, with mirror quality set to high. All drivers and Windows are currently updated. This issue exclusively manifests within Forza Horizon 4, not affecting any other games. My RAM is overclocked, though this is the only modification made to my system’s hardware configuration. PC Specifications: Red Devil RX 5700XT, Ryzen 5 3600, B450 gaming plus pro carbon ac, 16gb Trident Z RGB 3600mhz CL15, 860 EVO 1TB SSD. I require responses, not views.
The old driver functioned correctly, but the new driver causes crashes after approximately 15 minutes. Rolling back to the previous driver results in constant crashes. Consider utilizing Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to remove all existing drivers and subsequently reinstall the latest version. Alternatively, if that fails, use DDU to install driver version 2.1 instead of 2.2.
However, I experience frequent crashes on the previous version.
What power supply and model is being used? What are the CPU/GPU temperatures and usage during gameplay? What is the RAM, SSD, and HDD usage during gameplay? What detail settings should be lowered for this game? Does this driver fix a multitude of problems, and could it potentially resolve the game’s issues in subsequent updates?
Be quiet! Straight Power 11 750W. RAM usage is approximately 50-70% during gaming. SSD usage remains minimal during gaming. I plan to reduce settings. CPU temperatures while gaming are between 60-70°C, and the GPU is at 100% usage according to Task Manager, reaching approximately 70°C.
The previous driver functioned correctly, but the new driver causes crashes after approximately 15 minutes. Rolling back to the older driver results in constant crashes. Consider utilizing Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) to completely remove all previous drivers and subsequently reinstall the latest version. If that fails, attempt removing the 2.2 driver with DDU and reinstalling the 2.1 version instead.
