Fortnite lag issues affect FPS games, causing performance drops.
My PC B550 Pro4 Ryzen7 3700x XFX 6650xt with 16 GB RAM and 3600Mhz can handle Forza Horizon 5 at 144 FPS easily on High/ultra settings, just like Far Cry 5 and 6. However, when I try Fortnite with low graphics settings capped at 120 FPS, the frame rate drops unpredictably to as low as 10 or 8 FPS. I’ve tried closing all background apps, uninstalling and reinstalling on a different M.2 slot, but the issue persists. It seems the game might be affected by the recent update from Tuesday. Is it my machine or is the game itself problematic now?
I've adjusted all possible configurations and still can't reach an average of 100 FPS in performance mode with everything set to low. I even tested at 720p resolution, but the frame rate keeps dropping constantly. When I'm stationary, it's smooth at around 120 FPS, but when I move the mouse, it instantly drops to just 5-10 FPS for a few seconds before returning to 120.
