Hey there, I’m facing a bit of an unusual situation – or maybe even two... But let’s start from the beginning: a few days ago my hard drive stopped working, where I store data for universities and programs/games that don’t need fast transfers. I’m not sure if this is connected, but I thought it worth mentioning. The drive is now disconnected since I have two NVMe SSDs. For about a week, the issue began while playing Fortnite (not due to an update, since it happened before). It caused random freezes – the whole system would stop abruptly, with no blue screen, just brief interruptions in animation and sound, followed by a restart. Sometimes it only affected one app, showing an error without details. It happens unexpectedly – sometimes after 2 minutes from powering on the game, sometimes after 2 hours. The problem appears only in Fortnite; other games work normally. This isn’t the only issue – maybe it’s related. Another odd thing is that the Steelseries GG app shuts down right when I open the “moments” tab. The whole application functions except for this feature, which minimizes when I select it. In settings, you can turn it on and assign a shortcut to save replays, but nothing works in games. Recently, none of these problems occurred except the hard drive failure, with no software or hardware changes. I’ve tried everything: resetting CPU and GPU clocks, reinstalling drivers, updating Fortnite, Epic Games, Steelseries GG, running with admin rights, and more – nothing helped. Reinstalling the whole system isn’t an option because it’s time-consuming (I use the computer for university tasks), and I don’t want to repeat the same issue. I’m sharing my hardware specs here in case they help:

- CPU: Intel i5 11400F (power limits off)
- GPU: MSI 2080 Ti Duke OC
- RAM: g.skill Trident with RGB 16GB, 3000MHz
- Storage: ASUS ROG Maximus 12 Apex (Z490, latest BIOS)
- CPU cooler: Silentium PC Fera 5 Argb
- Drivers: SAMSUNG MZVLB256HAQ-000H1 256GB & WD Blue SN570 1TB
- Power supply: Silentium PC Supremo FM2 Gold 650W
- Case: Krux Anta with 5 fans + CPU cooler
- Software: Steelseries Apex 3
- Mouse: Steelseries Rival 110

I’m unsure what else I could do or how to diagnose the problem further. Thanks for your patience, and I appreciate any advice you can offer.

Based on your previous efforts, it seems you're left with just two choices: a Windows in-place upgrade or a complete reinstall if the first option fails.
