Hi Misbis,
With the hardware you're using in your PC, there shouldn't be any issues with graphics at 240Hz. In terms of errors, you can try the following steps.
Click start, type %localappdata% (press enter), then click fortniteGame, save, config, WindowsClient, right-click on UserGameSettings, select Properties, uncheck Read Only, open GameUserSetting, double-click, scroll down and change
"[D3DRHIPreference]"
bUseD3D12InGame=False
from False to True
File > save, then right-click on GamerUserSettings, select Properties, check Read Only, test in game.

Hello, the cable should work properly.
Did you notice that a DP cable was not part of the box when you opened it?

Don’t remember much – but honestly I was getting ready fast on Christmas Eve and already had a HDMI connection, so I didn’t notice much.
I tried your advice about D3DRHIPreference, but it still stops around 20 minutes into the game. The warning says:
UE-Fortnite
Fortnite has crashed. We’re really sorry this happened and we are working to stop it next time. You can find assistance online through Fortnite Technical Support. If you’ve had several crashes with Direct X rendering mode beta, maybe try switching to Direct X 11.
I’m using DX11 so that suggestion doesn’t apply here.
I haven’t changed the cable yet – but I think it shouldn’t be causing issues because of this.
Any other suggestions would be appreciated?

Hello Misbis,
you're right about not crashing me.
Open the Epic games launcher, go to Settings, then Fortnite, scroll to the bottom, check Additional Command Line Arguments, and type D3D11.

I have the same problem, Zotac Twin Edge RTX 3070, 650W Corsair GOLD, i7 10700. What's the problem? I've tried all possible solutions, it crashes even in d11. I've also sent the logs to Fortnite support without a response yet. No other games are affected—GTA V, Control, Minecraft, Genshin Impact, Cyberpunk, Witcher, F1 2021, COD Warzone, and it only happens with Fortnite!

Hi,
Thank you for your message. I attempted the solutions you suggested and made the necessary changes in the game file folders. I also changed the cable to the display port one, but the problem persisted. Then I tried Red Dead Redemption 2 (both online and offline) to check if it would crash—though it did, without any error messages, just closing me out of the game back to the desktop. Could you provide more ideas? Games that don’t require graphics seem to work better (like football manager and Roblox).
