Forgotten game
Forgotten game
When I was a child I enjoyed playing an RPG, though I can't recall its title. I remember starting the game with one of three characters, each beginning on a different map. The first character was a man wielding a sword, facing two paths: one leading to a tunnel filled with giant spiders and another with stairs that, if climbed, reveal humanoid monsters. The second character was a woman holding a bow, while the third was (I’m not sure) a man with an axe. Depending on which of the second or third character you chose, you’d begin on a map packed with traps and puzzles with minimal enemies. Don’t worry about the visuals—NUGE will enhance them. If this sounds familiar, let me know you’re missing it!
the game that comes to mind is this - the lord of the rings: war in the north - but i'm pretty sure it's not the one you're thinking of because the female is a mage and now i've put more thought into it, feeling that the three characters start in the same area.
It seems likely it's not this title since it was launched in 2011 and you mentioned playing a different game earlier.
Do you have any thoughts on the timing? It might assist in reducing the options.
The description matches Torchlight, confirming it as the game. It is an MMO with single-player options, and it is indeed a first-person experience.
It's a solo player experience
I'm fairly confident it's a first-person perspective, with about 20% chance it was an OTS (over-the-shoulder camera) similar to games like GTA or The Witcher, and 100% certainty it wasn't a camera that views the character from above, as seen in strategy titles.
