Hello there, I need some advice/help regarding an upgrade and some general advice while on a budget . The reasons being that a 3600 won't bottleneck the new GPU and it's a fairly good system for another year and a half until AM5 appears. I don't have the budget for a super big upgrade now with a 5600x because then I'd need a new board, RAM and a more expensive CPU. Basically 230$ (local prices) vs ~650$. Config: MB - Gigabyte AB350 gaming 3 CPU - 1600x PSU - Seasonic S12II 620W RAM - Corsair Vengeance LPX Black 16GB DDR4 3000MHz CL15 Dual Channel Kit GPU - RX580 4GB A few days ago I flashed my bios to the latest one (F51b) from the first one (F3), following all steps: 1. Updated windows 2 . Installed latest AMD chipset drivers 3. Installed bios in the specific order from the documentation. I did this because I'm looking to upgrade to a 3600, however I'm not 100% sure everything is as stable as I wanted it to . Checked in aida64 during a stress test and the 1600x no longer boosts to 4.1ghz, instead it stays stuck at 3.7ghz on all cores all the time. Does the same thing in gaming, never reaches 4.1ghz. However when I'm not gaming or doing anything in particular I can see it spike at 4.1ghz occasionally in aida64 statistics. The first day after I got a couple of blue screens, nothing major, everything seems to be ok-ish. I was able to game for 4+ hours on multiple occasions and passed all stress tests. CPU temps are really low (52-54 in 100% load but since it only stays in 3.7ghz probably that's the reason why). Upgrades I will definitely do: PSU - Super Flower Leadex III Gold, 80+ Gold, 750W GPU - reasonably priced 3070 (under 550 EUR) or 6800. Has anyone had problems with a 3600 on a b350 board? Does it boost properly? Do you get 100% performance and stability out of it? I don't want to buy it and have it neutered at a lower frequency. Thank you!!
