It's interesting to see what configurations people have. I own an older i7 2600k that my brother gave me after he upgraded to a R5 3600 for Christmas. I'm considering using it as a secondary streaming machine. I'd love to know how many people use dual systems versus single ones and what their specs are. If you're up for it, what changes would you like to make? This seems like a great conversation starter during quieter times.
I sometimes capture gameplay and rely on the recording tool built into GeForce Experience (formerly Shadowplay). It functions well for me. Previously, I experimented with OBS for CPU encoding, but it didn’t perform satisfactorily. Switching to uncompressed video in OBS caused unusual color distortions at the edges. I’ve since stopped that approach and now mainly use GeForce Experience when recording, unless I have more resources to upgrade my hardware.
You are thinking about which games you want to play and what speed you need for each setting. You’d like one main machine to handle streaming while another runs the game or app, rather than using two separate systems. This approach helps avoid performance drops because your main system can’t manage both tasks at once. Upgrading a single system might not match the boost you get from a dedicated streaming rig. Aim for a powerful gaming PC for your game and a less powerful one for streaming if they’re similar in specs. Make sure your streaming setup has a good network card and fast internet. If you run both on one machine, boost its RAM and use multiple GPUs for better performance.
Basically, whatever game or platform I’m into right now. No particular focus. Think of a streamer who plays many things. I aim to stream multiple services—Twitch, YouTube, Mixer. My setup is a mid-range PC with a 3600 processor, 16GB RAM, an RTX 2070, and NVMe/SSD storage. I’m considering 720p at 60fps or 1080p at 60fps if possible. I’m not aiming for full-time income, but the parts are gathering dust, so I’m just experimenting to see what works. My main goal here was to observe real setups versus what’s shown on YouTube recommendations. I enjoy seeing people’s configurations. That’s my personal vibe. lol
