Hi, I'm curious about the lifespan of a new gaming setup priced between $1500 and 3k plus. My model is an HP Gaming P690.

The time until breakdown varies by part, but generally the CPU and RAM can last a very long time, the GPU might last about ten years, the power supply around five years, and the motherboard is the most unpredictable, lasting either a long time or failing soon.

Based on your past activity, you currently have a 8400 and 1050Ti. This should last another couple of years before considering an upgrade.

1050Ti isn't a powerful card... won't be keeping up with the latest AAA games.

I was aiming for a positive outlook. I'm counting on it lasting a couple of years in 1080p at medium quality with some adjustments. No?

It's nice to stay hopeful
The challenges in games are increasing, so I agree, but I wouldn't compromise on any appealing graphics or modified titles with extra features

It'll probably won't look or play at it's best, but it'll be fine/okay till the time for upgrades is definitely needed. Best to close/limit any program running in the background in case of lag or slow down while playing.
