I wouldn't suggest CachyOS to someone new. Opt for Mint, Ubuntu, Bazzite, or Fedora instead. Most software packages come with .deb or .rpm formats, and most guides fit Mint/Ubuntu or Fedora. I personally use CachyOS—it runs quickly and I enjoy it—but there have been some minor issues that might surprise someone unfamiliar with Linux. If you're comfortable with Linux, then CachyOS could be a good fit. You don't need to be an expert, but having some time with Linux will help you understand it better.
