I understand the risks of using Linux—like getting shocked or dealing with costly tech issues—but there are distros that closely mimic Windows in daily use. (It’s still Linux, just with a different interface.) My friend is new to Linux and mostly used Windows, so I’m helping her find a smoother transition.

Linux Mint resembles Windows quite a bit, especially in older versions. Kali Linux is mainly favored by those interested in scripting.

It seems you're talking about a desktop environment rather than a distribution. Cinnamon is probably what you mean. You'll find it on many operating systems.

The most similar to a windowed look are KDE Plasma and Cinnamon. In distribution language, you can add Kubuntu or Linux Mint Cinnamon.

Are you certain you're helping her in the right way? You wouldn't learn to drive by having someone else shift the gears for you. If she truly wants to explore Linux, why not offer her the mainstream choice that experts consider superior? I don’t want her coming to think Linux is just a strange twist of Windows. Let her see what it can do better instead.
