Hi, today I updated my NVIDIA drivers to 527.56. After the update, my resolution changed from 2560x1440 to 1024x768. I tried installing an older driver but it didn’t fix the issue. In safe mode I could choose 1440p automatically, but in regular Windows it only let me pick 1024x768 or 800x600 even after cleaning and reinstalling. When using an HDMI cable, I can get 1440p again, but switching back to displayport drops it to 1024x768. Before the driver update it worked perfectly on 1440p displayport. Someone, could you help me figure out what video card I have? Thanks for your support.
You might consider using DDU to fully erase your driver and then reinstall it. If this doesn’t work, please let me know so I can offer additional options.
The situation grew increasingly bizarre. Following DemiGod’s advice and DDU’s suggestion (after safely exiting), I restarted into normal Windows and saw a 1440p display. However, without current drivers, I installed an older version (526.98) which restored the screen to 1024x768. I considered even older versions but am highly likely they were already installed. Going further back to 521.95 resolved the issue. It seems there’s a stubborn driver problem. I’ll wait for an updated release. If it persists, I’ll share again to keep others updated. This also feels odd... when I checked my resolution it was around 480p or something. There are lots of fixes online if you look up the issue... It looks like the simplest solution is mentioned on the forum link you shared. If that doesn’t help, maybe the problem is with your cable or port—those seem low quality, and I’ve stopped using them except for HDMI.

- The resolution isn't available in both Windows and NVIDIA Control Panel. I only have 800x600 and 1024x768 options, not something like Afterburner. I'll try again tonight with Revo. I'm reinstalling my chipset drivers.
- Both the "list all modes" feature and custom resolutions give the same results (800x600 and 1024x768) but with high refresh rates. Using a custom setting causes severe artifacts. The image appears compressed and damaged, making it unusable. I suspect the issue isn't the cable or port—older drivers work fine on that setup.

oh ok... thats good info... but then the issue is basically resolved? just use the older driver until they fix the newer ones.
