The allure of gamepads, wheels/pedals, and joysticks on PC remains strong. Certain games thrive with analog input, while digital controls via mice and keyboards suit tasks needing accuracy like shooters or strategy games. However, these tools aren’t ideal for driving a car. I’ve noticed GTA V lets you effortlessly transition from gamepad to mouse/keyboard once you’re outside, which seems like a solid solution for me. A gamepad makes sense as an investment for PC gaming. It’s interesting you’re the first to realize you needed one—surprised, perhaps!

I don't have any good wireless (important, all the wires are being bitten by cats) gamepads, microsoft's is good, but it's too expensive. Also there's a logitech F700, but with cost of shipping it will be just like microsoft's gamepad.

Question the obviousness by considering what they actually use. Focus on understanding vehicles and tracks if you're playing with newcomers to GTA V (there are many). Pay attention to how "catch up" and "contact" impact the experience. Avoid broad statements and exaggerations. Your skill as a racer matters, and it doesn't depend on the specific game you play. A good example is people using adaptive tools like sticks or custom buttons despite physical limitations.
