For my Asus boards, I restore the bricked BIOS using only the disk that came with the board. As early as AM2 socket boards, my first approach was for an Asus M3A. Very straightforward, fast and hassle-free. Typically you don’t need anything beyond a CD/DVD reader. In the video I watched, he removed the BIOS chip. Usually you don’t have to do that at all—just connect the leads and it’s done. For a board without power, you’ll need power leads to activate the chip. Still, this video is helpful. Another option if you must remove the BIOS chip is to check BiosDepot on eBay. You can easily order a new chip for a reasonable price and install any revision you prefer.
