I updated my profile yesterday and used an x470 gaming plus board. The BIOS was installed correctly the first time, but the second version is still in beta. It requires the latest BIOS for the newest CPU support. I followed the same steps as before with the same flash drive. The drive was formatted with fat32, so I extracted the files and placed them in the root folder. When trying M-Flash, it didn’t recognize the BIOS file—maybe check the file path or ensure it’s accessible.
You should avoid using a Beta BIOS because it has known problems that might impact system performance. Which processor are you planning to upgrade? Make sure the BIOS file is saved directly on the USB stick, not just downloaded. Unzip the file and put only the .AK4 version onto the extracted USB drive inside.
I've already bought the processor, which is the Ryzen 5 5600x. It needs the beta BIOS, but the release has been available for some time even though it seems new. I've extracted the files, but I'm putting both on the USB drive and will try using just one when I get home.
It seems the Beta BIOS is the only available option for the 5600X. Proceed by using the .AK file, save it to a USB stick, and attempt the M-Flash process without any additional files.
