Your Windows 8 is acting sluggish, so you chose to reinstall after backing up everything. Bootcamp can’t recognize the OS anymore, but the disk utilities list the partition as normal. You’re preparing to download the Windows 10 ISO for bootcamp.

1. Keep the original Windows 8 partition intact—your files are safe there.
2. Decide whether to format it (likely FAT32) or delete it entirely if you don’t need those files anymore.

Remove the Windows 8 drive section. Can’t format the bootcamp partition to FAT32 since Windows 10 won’t start there. Install it as NTFS.

The format you'd use during the bootcamp setup is typically NTFS. You might want to prepare the system first by removing the Windows 8 partition, then proceed with the installation. The steps are usually outlined in the official documentation, though some users find it helpful to follow a guide or video for clarity.

It should automatically set the bootcamp partition to NTFS. You might want to check the 9to5 Mac method.

I handled the backup by creating a fresh partition using my OSX in FAT32 format and transferring the Windows files there. Moving them to an external HDD is not possible since malware disabled my mouse from clicking.
