It was easy to identify it by inserting the port and observing the 5V level. Alternatively, inspect the ground of a few LEDs to confirm there’s continuity with a pin.

Micro-B header consistently maintains the same sequence, so orientation isn’t a major concern (except for which side goes left or right). On the right you’ll find a yellow blob—a tantalum capacitor. The dark red line indicates the positive terminal. It’s probably Vcc, which clears any confusion. Closely next is U6, an ESD protection diode, with traces acting as controlled differential transmission lines. We don’t know what D+ and D- mean, but since this connector follows a standard layout, we can assume D- is on the right and D+ on the left. The pin near a large copper area likely serves as ground. The remaining pin on the left appears confusing; based on the pinout it should be the ID pin, yet R3 and C5 are present—possibly a pF capacitor and a high impedance resistor for EMI suppression.

This approach works well—it makes perfect sense. Regarding soldering the cable, it should be possible without taking out the port, though you might need to adjust your method slightly.

The image isn't clear enough to detect any connections between the connector and pads. It's hard to tell if a signal path exists to an ID pin. You can verify visually or using a multimeter. It's safe to proceed unless a short occurred in the connector.
