Fixing remote internet issues involves troubleshooting connectivity problems from a distance.
Hey I'm in an other country and my parents have an issue with their desktop pc's internet. No cables or settings have been changed. There has been a power outage after which the problem started. They run windows 10 home, Intel core i5-4460, Gigabyte motherboard, 8GB ram. PC is connected via an ethernet cable via a hub to the router. We've tried the cable directly in the router without success. Other devices connected via ethernet work as normal. Internet has no valid ip configuration and the tray icon is stuck on identifying. Any advice is welcome as i've had trouble testing fixes due to the "remoteness" and lack of computer knowledge and speed by my parents
Instruct them to click the networking icon with the right-click option, then select "diagnose/troubleshoot." Adhere to its recommendations and request them to thoroughly review every instruction provided.
Attempted but received no valid IP configuration for the video call.
Open Device Manager, locate the relevant network adapter, right-click it and select uninstall the driver. Restart your computer carefully—do not shut it down or turn off the power. Verify in Device Manager whether Windows has reinstalled the network adapter.
