Fixing low frame rates while playing video games.
Fixing low frame rates while playing video games.
Hello everyone, I’m hoping someone can identify the issue.
I assembled a new computer in August, and it performed exceptionally well at that time.
Recently, I’ve been experiencing significant frame rate decreases when playing games such as League of Legends or Dead By Daylight, despite its specifications indicating smooth performance without problems.
Initially, I suspected an inadequate CPU cooler, so I purchased a replacement, but the issue persists. I also attempted to clean the system, scan for malware and viruses, and remove extraneous files and software, yet the problem remains unresolved.
System Details:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600 (Six-Core, Six-Thread)
GPU: Nvidia GTX 1080
PSU: EVGA SuperNOVA G2 650 W – 80+ Gold Certified Fully Modular ATX Power Supply
RAM: Corsair Vengeance 16GB (2x8GB)
We recently obtained a fiber optic internet connection, so network connectivity is not the cause.
Do you have any suggestions regarding potential solutions?
It functioned effectively for an extended period. Assuming it’s not due to temperature fluctuations or malware, and excluding any newly installed applications, I’d hypothesize that Windows 10 and its updates are the cause. A fresh installation of the newest version might be attempted.
