Hi everyone, I recently purchased a new 144Hz monitor (BenQ XL2411p) which I connected via DisplayPort, and I’ve set up my older monitor (Acer G246HL 60Hz) as a secondary display using HDMI. While gaming – particularly in titles like Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, Rainbow Six Siege, and Rocket League – I typically select the 144Hz monitor. However, even when achieving approximately 200 frames per second (as indicated by the GeForce overlay), the game appears to experience frame rate drops, and it doesn't feel consistently fluid. Furthermore, I’m encountering an issue installing the latest GeForce game drivers due to an unidentified error. I'd appreciate any suggestions you might have regarding these issues.

My system specifications are: AMD Ryzen 5 3600 (6-core, 3.6 GHz), 16 GB of RAM, Windows 10 (64-bit), and a GeForce GTX 1060 with 3 GB of VRAM.

Attempt to uninstall the Nvidia driver and then install the newest driver from nvidia.com after restarting your computer. Does performance improve if you disconnect your HDMI display?

Certain multi-screen setups will limit refresh rates to 60Hz, while others support varied speeds. Activating a second display and spanning them can sometimes compel both screens to operate at 60Hz. When utilizing a mirrored display mode, both monitors will default to 60Hz. Furthermore, you must manually configure the monitor with a higher refresh rate – specifically 144Hz – within Windows display settings or NVIDIA control panel resolution options.
