I am looking to enhance this older computer system, potentially through upgrades. I currently own an Asus monitor VE247 – 1680x1050 at 60Hz. I’m unsure of the best approach, having viewed some online tutorials. Could someone advise me on suitable components to add for a modest and budget-friendly system capable of playing Fortnite?
An R7 iGPU is likely integrated into an A10 processor, according to my recollection. Possibly an A8 or A6 model?
Running Fortnite at 1680x1050 (a widescreen aspect ratio) might be playable, though the performance is unlikely to be exceptional.
Adding a small graphics card would likely improve things, but your power supply and the CPU itself will impose significant constraints.
It’s certainly possible to get acceptable performance at a reasonable price – you might be able to use something like a GTX 750, though whether that’s a practical or beneficial upgrade is uncertain.
perhaps the hard drive. otherwise, no valuable possessions remain.

Running Fortnite at a resolution of 1680x1050 (16:9) should be playable, though the performance is unlikely to be exceptional.
Adding a smaller graphics card would likely improve things, however, you'll face limitations due to both the power supply and, more significantly, the central processing unit.
In terms of basic operation, it could be accomplished affordably… you might consider a GTX750 as a possibility, though its usefulness and practicality are questionable.
The game is enjoyable, though it’s not performing optimally. Despite lowering the in-game settings, the performance isn't ideal. I’d be willing to invest around £200 in new computer parts if it would significantly improve things. Alternatively, I could purchase a PlayStation 4 and connect a keyboard and mouse – however, considering my limited technical knowledge, a completely new gaming PC might be the better choice.
Reducing parameters increases the load on the processor—and it’s already a weak component.
It would likely be more beneficial to raise configurations and fully utilize the graphics card.
I strongly advise against spending approximately $280 on this configuration. You could acquire a PlayStation 4, or alternatively, a modestly used desktop computer with an adequate graphics card that would perform better. Perhaps consider selling your current equipment to recover some funds?
