Midi are just steps to make instruments play at specific notes and times, while an mp3 file is simply a recording of sound. You can change mp3 files into samples that fit in midi format, which is exactly what most programs do. Turning one thing into another takes way too much brain power because you have to listen to every instrument and write down each note. If you want to turn something else into midi, it's the best way to get your music right, but it still feels really hard.

Just a few quick searches show lots of people who think they can do it. So which ones have you actually tried?

I tested several tools like MiniToolVideoConverter, SwitchSoundFileConverter, RunWavePadSoundEditor, MediaHumanAudioConverter, fre:ac, and a few more. None of them successfully converted the file into MIDI format.

Midi is just a set of rules for playing instruments at specific pitches and times, while an mp3 is just a recording of sound. You can change mp3 files into samples that fit in midi format; most programs will do this for you. Turning a sound file into real midi takes way too much computer learning because you'd have to listen to every instrument and write down each note on paper. It's the easiest way to find sheet music for something you want and turn it into midi, but doing that is still very hard.
