[Fixed] GPU Driver Updates
[Fixed] GPU Driver Updates
This question comes from my curiosity because I can't figure it out using the normal search tools. It's such a simple thing, so I feel a bit shy to ask, but here is what I think. Every time a new version of a graphics card driver comes out, it usually adds something new—maybe a feature or a tweak, some for games and some that work everywhere. My question: Does every little change ever made to a driver show up in the newest version? To put it simply: A few years ago, "Detroit: Become Human" got fixes because it had problems when it first launched on PC. Fast forward to today (February 2022), and the latest driver is like version 511. Are those old fixes from 461 still here in 511? If yes, then I have another question: After all these years of tweaks and features being added, why aren't drivers getting huge sizes at this point? Over time, wouldn't they grow into massive files? Or is the data needed for those specific fixes so small that it doesn't add up to a big file? Or are old bits cut out because they're no longer used over time... or maybe just like with 3D Vision in driver 425.31 (2019) which no longer exists, even though I still love using my glasses with the screen? Thanks for any help!
Most game fixes work by changing the app profiles. You can check this using Nvida Inspector. If you don't do that, your drivers keep getting bigger until they break things or get old like some other technology.
hmm so most game fixes happen when we change our app profile, you could check that with the nvidia inspector. instead of just updating the drivers, those get bigger and bigger until they run out of power or crash something old like that.
