Fixed: Fortnite frame rate issues
Fixed: Fortnite frame rate issues
Greetings. I’m currently enjoying Fortnite in its competitive mode, experiencing fluctuating frame rates—typically around 60 frames per second with occasional dips, especially in densely populated urban areas where numerous players are present. Previously, during Season 7, I utilized a configuration of graphics settings maintained since Season 4: Distance view: Extensive, Shadows: Elevated, Anti-aliasing: Maximum, Textures: Superior, Effects: Amplified, Post processing: Maximized—all while running at a resolution of 1360x768, achieving approximately 70 frames per second. However, a change occurred recently when a friend advised me to switch to competitive settings. From that point onward, I’ve encountered significantly lower and noticeably worse frame rates. I'm seeking advice on how to enhance my performance.
System specifications:
GeForce GTX 750 Ti
AMD FX 6100
8 gigabytes of RAM
1360x768
Invest in contemporary CPU, motherboard, and RAM components that can meet your performance demands. Adding a graphics card upgrade might also be beneficial.
The 6100 demonstrated underwhelming performance upon its initial release, and this issue persists even after nine years.
Have you experimented with different configurations and encountered problems? Did you modify settings outside of Fortnite? A possible reason for your reduced frame rate is likely your 750ti graphics card. Consider reducing the visual quality. If that doesn’t improve performance, it could be a problem related to your memory or processor. It's most likely that the issue stems from your graphics card, as it’s not particularly robust, especially when paired with an FX6100 processor.
A GTX750Ti should perform well at higher settings. I previously used a GTX660, which consistently delivered over 120 frames per second. It's possible the current resolution is unusually high. Experiment with reducing the graphic detail slider on the left side.
Is that truly accurate? I previously possessed a 1050 with an FX6300, and that configuration outperformed his system. I also found it challenging to achieve more than 40 frames per second in Fortnite, even when using the lowest settings.
I’m increasingly concerned regarding that desktop processor. It's certainly time to upgrade to a more current system. Previously, I utilized an i7-3770 and a GTX 660, allowing me to play at medium settings at 1080p with frame rates of 65-75, and achieving competitive rates exceeding 120. Running all graphics options at maximum produced approximately 30-40 frames per second.
Examine my signature; I have used all verbs in a past tense format regarding your response. Furthermore, his fx6100 is outdated and contributing to the issue.
I anticipate being able to perform at a consistent frame rate suitable for competitive gaming with standard graphics settings. However, I’m currently experiencing only 40 frames per second in urban environments. What steps can I take to enhance my performance?
Invest in current-generation components – a processor, motherboard, and memory that can meet your performance demands. Adding a graphics card upgrade might also be beneficial. The 6100 was underwhelming in its initial release, and that’s even more true now after nine years.
