Greetings,

I'm experiencing a recent issue with my computer. It frequently freezes completely and requires a restart during gameplay, sometimes even when attempting to start a game – particularly with Far Cry 5 at unpredictable intervals. My system is capable of running this title, and I’ve previously played comparable demanding games with an older processor, similar graphics card, and reduced memory.

Here’s a breakdown of my hardware:

(New) AMD RYZEN 2700x
Sapphire Pulse Radeon RX Vega 56 8GB
(New) 2x8gb Kingston HyperX Fury 2.9 mhz
B350M PRO-VDH
(New) Crucial SSD 232gb
(New) Maxtor 1TB external HDD
Gigabyte 750W

This represents a completely rebuilt system, with a fresh Windows installation on the new SSD and all drivers updated. The problem persists despite these changes, and I'd welcome any suggestions for diagnosing or resolving this issue.

Has “recently” indicated that it functioned correctly prior to this issue?

If so, consider any alterations that have occurred since then, such as connecting a large number of devices to a single power strip or outlet, or vigorous case cleaning – the latter can damage components due to static discharge from appliances like vacuums.

Nevertheless, initially verify that drivers and operating systems are current, along with DirectX, Visual Studio, and the newest Net Framework installations, among other essentials.

Has the functionality worked correctly previously?

If this is the case, consider any alterations that have occurred since then – such as overloading a power strip with numerous gadgets, or vigorous case cleaning—the latter can be detrimental. For example, electric vacuum cleaners generate considerable static electricity and may damage sensitive parts.

Nevertheless, it’s essential to initially examine straightforward solutions like verifying that drivers and the operating system are current, as well as ensuring DirectX, Visual Studio, and the newest Net Framework have been installed.
