It should be red. Your laptop shows this status: 50-100% full, 10-50% half full, below 10% is red and low.

I'm not sure... The smallest I've noticed is 10%, but that doesn't mean it's half full.

Linux's standard power indicator typically doesn't change rapidly like a mobile device's. It should display a visual cue or color alert when the battery is nearly empty, providing a warning instead of constant depletion.

You haven't encountered the GNOME3 battery display correctly before. A possible workaround is to install the GNOME user extensions and look for a battery percentage indicator. This isn't ideal but should offer a decent solution. (Ensure you have GNOME tweaks enabled and consider using gnome-session.)
