I'm working on a refurbished PC using parts I already own. It boots after resetting the CMOS and jumps into the American Megatrend screen, asking me to press F1 to enter BIOS. BIOS reports all hardware is functioning properly. Occasionally it starts up successfully, then I install Windows from a USB drive. During installation, the PC sometimes shuts down midway and freezes without a proper exit. The ASUS debug LED indicates data activity, and the CPU light turns on and cycles. Here are the components I've tested: RAM installed in all slots, CPU reinstalled, CMOS reset, replacing the CMOS battery, unplugging and plugging in the CPU and motherboard power cables. A video shows me attempting a CMOS reset to demonstrate it works initially but fails after saving BIOS changes. Thanks for taking the time to read and possibly assist!

Sure thing! Glad you're testing it out. Just remember to double-check your setup before making any changes.

It was definitely the motherboard. I returned the old one and purchased a replacement from a different seller. It functioned perfectly.
