First time overclocking help
Hello everyone, just completed a build and wanted to share some details. My specs are: CPU Intel i5 6600k, motherboard MSI Z170A M3, PSU CX600W, GPU MSI Radeon R9 380 4GB, RAM 16GB GSKILL Ripjaws V series 288 DDR4 SDRAM at 2133MHz with 2x8 sticks, storage includes a Samsung 850 120GB SSD and a 1TB HDD, CPU cooler is Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO. I’m curious about overclocking the CPU—what’s the recommended method and extent? Also, is my PSU sufficient for this setup, or should I upgrade it? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
1. Any rushed overclocking instructions here would likely be poor quality; try this alternative (please don’t end my life for sharing this link) http://www.overclock.net/t/1570313/skyla...statistics 2. Your power supply isn’t ideal for this project, and you’re pushing it too far. I recommend a 650-750 80plus gold/higher tier 1 PSU. See 3. Your build has some imbalances—your CPU is solid, but the GPU is only average. This might be due to budget constraints; in the future, upgrading the PSU and GPU would make the most sense. Having said that, this decision is entirely yours, and you don’t have to upgrade your PSU right now; it should suffice, and the 6600k is...

It’s your call, but you don’t have to upgrade the PSU right away; the 6600k isn’t demanding much power.
