You might find a 3200-3600 RAM suitable for third generation systems since Ryzen prefers faster memory. This setup should boost performance on third gen devices, though I’m not sure about the A12 model.

As @Jurrunio mentioned, upgrading to 3rd generation calls for a better AM4 board. Avoid skimping on the power supply—it could cause major issues if it malfunctions.

Consider waiting to upgrade until you have a better CPU available. Building now would mean wasting money on something that might not be worth it later. If you plan to upgrade soon, the 4000 series is likely a better choice.
