My understanding of internet security is limited. Is a firewall similar to an antivirus program? Should I assume that a router acts like a hardware firewall while a computer antivirus is a software firewall? If a firewall is turned on for your router, would you still need one on your PC?

It appears the interface is indicating that the settings are handled by Norton Security instead of your own preferences.

Yes, but your PC blocks the Windows firewall since it thinks Norton Security is handling it. This suggests Norton includes its own firewall and antivirus features.

Yes, when labeled Anti-Virus it usually refers to a standalone antivirus solution, whereas Internet Security typically includes additional features like firewalls and more than just antivirus protection.

Having your PC firewall and antivirus active doesn't negate the need for a router firewall. Each layer adds protection, but they work together to secure your network.
