Firefox maintains Windows 10 active.
When Firefox is running, your Windows 10 stays active without sleeping. The system shows no audio requests and the process remains open. Closing Firefox resolves the issue but leaves the computer on. You might want to adjust settings or use a different method to enable sleep mode consistently.
One section is currently engaging with the audio stream, which causes Windows to believe you're active and thus keep it awake.
I noticed none of the tabs rely on audio, I could open just this post in one tab and get the expected output from powercfg. There doesn’t seem to be any audio here, is there? I’ll also try using an about:blank tab tonight. I hadn’t considered that before. Plus, why would there even be a request like this? It’s not audio or a display issue—it feels like Firefox itself is keeping the PC awake. This might be a forum bug. https://forums.unraid.net/topic/82984-fo...ent=891232 @colonel_mortis I remember this was from a year ago, but I haven’t found much more recent info. Setting a full exception in powercfg would let the monitor and PC sleep while playing YouTube videos, which isn’t ideal either.
The forum occasionally activates an audio channel to manage notification sounds. It needs to keep an audio context to resolve issues related to browser sound settings, though performance is still inconsistent. To avoid problems, disable sounds at
I appreciate your message. When I arrive home on Friday the 13th, I'll test with an empty tab and various sites to check availability. Thank you for your reply.
It's the forum you're using. I've looked at the powercfg settings for default pages like FF, eBay, Amazon, YouTube, and others. The only entries showing requests are this one forum and when a YouTube video plays. It's unclear which part of the page is causing it. You might try disabling other scripts with uBlock Origin by using the 'zapper' to isolate the issue. If it still works on a blank page, the problem could be in the HTML or JavaScript. I don't have any experience with coding, so diagnosing this is challenging for me.
