No proof backs this assertion. I initially suspected memory problems from a crash, but after reinstalling, I ran Memtest 86 and found nothing.

Microsoft anticipates I need to refresh the chipset drivers for my motherboard. Alongside that, updating the operating system and GPU drivers is necessary. Perhaps purchasing an iMac would have been a better choice.

Did you really understand what I said? You mentioned "after clean installing," but you just stated it yourself. It seems the fix came from cleaning it out, so it wasn’t a hardware problem. If cleaning didn’t resolve it, then maybe you didn’t do it correctly.

I downloaded all the chipset drivers from Gigabyte: Intel Management Engine Interface [11.0.01158] and Intel INF installation [10.1.1.8]. After restarting, my start menu stopped working but the system updated itself instantly. Once I restarted, Chrome opened properly and the start menu reappeared. I remain frustrated with Microsoft's direction and management.

If Windows 10 bothers you that much, consider Ubuntu 16.04 or another variant like Kubuntu, Lubuntu, GNOME or MATE depending on your preference. Or try Mint Cinnamon. Unless there are graphics driver problems, it’s ready to use right out of the box. With an AMD chip, you’re likely to skip driver installation (Mesa is now very strong). It might suit your needs regardless—worked for me too. For certain tasks like video editing, you could run Windows 10 in a VM when needed.

Microsoft can only supply drivers via the Windows Update system because they obtain them from manufacturers, assuming manufacturers support this approach. On Apple systems, Apple develops most of its OS drivers, giving it full authority over driver quality and ensuring updates sync properly with OS releases. Additionally, Apple restricts hardware settings, maintaining tight control over configuration to minimize issues and focus testing on specific setups. The closest Windows experience resembles the Microsoft Surface line—firmware and drivers are thoroughly vetted and managed by Microsoft. Once ready, Windows Update delivers the latest patches ahead of the typical Windows 10 rollout.

Choose items that suit your requirements and bring you joy. Avoid purchasing simply because others do.
