Gathered info: Purchased OEM Windows 7, discarded CD case. Upgraded to Windows 10 for free without problems. Over time, used incorrect PSU cables for old HDD/SSD, now saving them for later. Installed Windows 10 on a new M.2 drive with the free version. Still using the M.2 drive as boot device with the free OS. New motherboard in place. Need help locating the Windows key on the old drive and verifying compatibility. I understand it should be in sys32/config, but unsure how to access it. Should I attempt a boot and check the key manually? [Older drives weren’t listed in BIOS, so I’m trying to figure out why.]

Managed to solve the issue swiftly with a calm mind. Simply downloaded to the desktop, extracted files, and executed as admin. Clicked the square icon resembling a command prompt, chose the folder from another window, and launched it. Obtained the product ID and key without trouble.
